Watizit #4 (really, what is it?)

I have no clue as to what this is. It has been growing and growing in our garden for over a month now. The base plant has many stems and it's over six foot tall. These buds however, are maybe three inches across or one inch each. Please let me know what you think they are. Thanks.
Blossoms show little progress from original.

Now, WATIZIT?

Anonymous seems emphatic, that it's an Elderberry. Do we all agree?

Thank you Mr. Bemus. I've always admired your intelligence and thoughtful insight. What were talking about?

Link from Wiki with input as to the genus of my plant.

Thanks to Terry Brookman.

I'll update the plants progress and maybe that will give us the final reveal. I don't think it's a variation of Milkweed as Terry suggest. We'll see.

I think it will be more helpful if you take a shot from a more wide angle with the entire stalk showing. Also, have you ever seen any butterflies around it or caterpillars chewing on the leaves?

Thanks for your suggestion. As a matter of fact I did take several more shots giving more of an overall view, unfortunately they weren't helpful. The size limitation of the blog template doesn't offer any real detail as to be helpful. I'll try to find a way to work around that.

It's an Elderberry. There are several varieties and colors. Here's a link to a pic:

It sure could be an Elderberry. Thanks. I'm going to try again to provide better images so as to give better clues. Elderberry could well be the correct answer but if it is it's probably a variation of mine. I couldn't find a picture of an exact match. Thanks to everyone who has chimed in with their thoughts.
