Hmmm

I think the hardest part of being a mentor may be knowing when to stop.

Sigh!

I miss my Dad. It's been over two years now
and I still expect him to show up and say "Gotcha".
He would have been 86 yesterday.

A reflection on the city

We had a chance to spend a little down time in Chicago this summer and found the new park to be just fascinating. There are many fine image to come out that visit but these are of particular interest to me. There have been millions of shutters snapped from here, nonetheless I'm found of these. As I examine them closely, I find it impossible to see the shooter. No Photoshop here.

Merci.

Beauty in the beast.

Saint Louis is right on the Ice Belt in the winter. It can be devastating but it can also be a thing of beauty. This was shot from the Skinker-Highway 40 overpass. The city lurks as if it were Oz in a different time.

NOB4K

Everyone ask. What is NOB4K and what the heck am I looking at? Well, New Orleans Before Katrina is the acronym. And the image, it is the bell of a street musician's French Horn. What you can see in the reflection is Jackson Square and of course the blogger himself shooting the photo with a little traveling point and shoot camera. I found it obviously abstract, yet compelling.
At the time, our Wednesday morning business group had issued a challenge to create an image suitable for the "Mirror Project". It never got posted on their page but still remains a favorite of mine.

Hmmm

I've learned something from almost everyone I have ever known.

Der Weihnachtsmann (Old World Santa)

I searched for the ultimate Santa to be used as part of a proposed book of my portraits. Normally I don't publish color work for my portraits but in keeping with the season, I give you my "Old World Santa"

Hmmm

I think I do some of my best work in my sleep.

This week in the studio

So, this week Bill and I worked together again. He such a talented designer and we've been doing this for a long time. My kids, who are grown men, still call him Uncle Bill. It has become a treat when he can actually be on site. It used to be that way all the time but business trends have changed and mostly we work electronically through eMails and iDisk.
